Trucks.com recently published a joint article by Foresight Automotive and Teledyne FLIR about the advantages of thermal imaging for autonomous trucks.

Developing a sensor system for autonomous vehicles that drives safely at night, in adverse weather and low-visibility environmental conditions, including dust, is challenging. This is one of the major reasons why autonomous trucks and self-driving cars haven’t been massively adopted, despite their numerous advantages.

Infrared thermal cameras can see through dust, thus increasing vehicle safety.
